through mature stands of mountain laurel with views of two ponds, open fields
and beaver activity. The name Charcoal Burners Trail honors the Putnam County

Bill Huestis (Kent) Join us for a hike through a scenic native forest off historic Farmer’s
Mills Road, passing through boulder fields, thickets of mountain laurel, and
wide swatches of ferns and lichen. Trails are rocky and rooted in many

Clearpool Model Forest Hiking
Trail goes
through the 1st model forest established east of the Hudson. It
connects the blue, orange, yellow and green trails. It goes through land once
owned by the Smalley family.
