  • Saturday, March 24, 2018, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

The Lower Hudson Valley is filled with beautiful forests which benefit wildlife and purify our water supply. Our forests are also home to a uniquely delicious local product, the shiitake mushroom. In this workshop you will be given a hands-on introduction to producing log-grown shiitake. You will learn how to design the perfect laying yard and experience the steps to growing shiitake by inoculating your own log.

This spring Green Chimneys Clearpool Campus will be offering two introductory workshops in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Watershed and Agricultural Council. They will take place on the morning(10am- 12pm) and afternoon(1pm-3pm) of March 24th. There is a $20 fee, which includes an inoculated log to take home. There is 15-person limit per workshop. This is an adult only event.
