Cornell Cooperative Extension of Putnam County is pleased to announce the 2021 Master Gardener Volunteer plant sale. For the first time, gardeners will have the options of buying their plants on-line, at a live sale, or both.
The online store is now closed, orders place online the pickup dates are on the invoice.
Or get the best of both worlds. For gardeners that prefer to shop in-person, this year’s event will take place on Saturday, May 22 from 8:30 – 12:30 at Putnam County Veterans Memorial Park, a new location for the event. The sale will feature heirloom and unusual varieties, including many plants grown by local Master Gardeners and some one-of-a-kind selections not offered in the on-line sale. The plant sale site will be under cover, so gardeners can stay dry while they shop even if Mother Nature is busy watering her garden.
This year the focus is on pollinators and growing food. Our sale features organic heirloom and hybrid vegetable varieties selected by Master Gardeners for Putnam County gardens. Our carefully chosen heirloom and hybrid tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, and herbs are available this year in 4" pots and cell packs. You’ll love our native, pollinator-friendly perennials in 2"plugs! They'll keep your pollinators—and vegetable gardens—buzzing with activity. Pollinator friendly, native plants will be highlighted to support the Putnam Pollinator Pathway, a countywide initiative to promote pollinator-friendly gardens.
