One of the most anticipated events of National 4-H Week every year is the 4-H STEM Challenge, formerly known as National Youth Science Day. The theme of this year’s event, which is expected to see hundreds of thousands of youth across the nation taking part throughout October, is Mars Base Camp.Developed by Google and Virginia Cooperative Extension, Mars Base Camp is a collection of activities that teaches kids ages 8-14 STEM skills, including mechanical engineering, physics, computer science and agriculture.

4-H Volunteer Zach Krauss will lead a two part class  for 4-H STEM Month Challenge "Mars Base Camp" on Thursday, Oct. 22 & 29 from 2:30 - 4:00 pm. This will be an IN-PERSON class outside, if inclement weather the class will be held via Zoom.

Due to NYS physical distancing guidelines, the event will be limited. All participants must agree to follow public health policies outlined for the event.

Open to Youth ages 7 & up, fee $24 per group (1-4 youth per group). All groups must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Each Homeschool / Family group will receive a Mars Base Camp 4-H STEM Kit to take home.
